Having the ability around the basket to make a layup with either hand going off of either foot versus defensive pressure and in crowded spaces.
FOOTWORK
Having the ability to pivot and maintain balance on either foot versus defensive pressure and in crowded spaces.
PASSING & CATCHING
Having the ability to deliver sharp, crisp passes on-time and on-target, as well as being able to catch passes versus defensive pressure and in crowded spaces.
SHOOTING
Having the ability to shoot with proper form, rhythm and footwork.
SCREENING
Having the ability to take the correct angle with proper technique to screen for a teammate.
CUTTING
Having the ability to create separation from your defender by making hard cuts, using fakes and changing up speeds.
REBOUNDING
Having the ability to box your man out or avoid being boxed out to give yourself the best chance of securing the rebound.
GO-TO/COUNTER
Having the ability to create an efficient shot for yourself when needed, and having a counter to that move as well.
DECISION MAKING
Having the ability to read the defense and make decisions 1-second early vs. 1-second late.
DEFENSE (ON-BALL)
Having the ability to guard your man by keeping him in front of you, trying to force a tough contested shot, without fouling him.
DEFENSE (OFF-BALL)
Having the ability to see your man and the ball at the same time, and being able to provide help when needed, understanding that the ball scores.
